Precision Fitness Holiday Bowl Off
The year would not be complete without the Precision Fitness Holiday Bowl Off. The annual event, sponsored by Precision Fitness Corporate, was held at the Lucky Strike Lanes in Orange on November 25th. Members from the Anaheim Hills, Redondo Beach, and Riverside gyms gathered to show their mettle. The average team score would determine the 2007 champs.
Competition was fun but fierce. The highest individual score was on the Riverside team. Best effort went to all of the first-time bowlers. Youngest player and member was on the Redondo Beach team.
After painstaking minutes of calculations and re-calculations, it was the Anaheim gym who squeaked by with the highest team score.
Overall, it was a great time had by all. Congratulations to everyone for putting forth their best (form not necessarily behavior!). Until next year... keep practicing!

Love Ride 24 / California Bike Week
The Love Ride is the largest one-day charity motorcyle event in the world. This year, the ride was combined with the inaugural California Bike Week. The annual ride is sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Glendale and raises monies for the Muscular Dystropy Association and other local children's charities.
Testing out a future purchase Can you tell me where to find a
decent cup of coffee around here?!

Biking buds I'm gonna find me some kibbles and bits...

Precision Fitness
Redondo Beach
Anniversary Party
As the old saying goes, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” And what a year of fun it was!
Precision Fitness recently celebrated its one-year anniversary of the Redondo Beach location. To thank the clients for contributing to its success, gym owners (Buddy & Christie York), as well as PF founder and his wife (Mike & Jennifer Salerno) coordinated and treated everyone to a night of fun and games at the lavish Lucky Strike Lanes in Torrance (www.bowlluckystrike.com).
Based on the competitiveness of the evening, you would assume that there was a tournament going on! Of course, it was all in fun and ranged from individuals getting the courage to bowl for their very first time, to placing bets to NOT get a gutter ball, to rusty bowlers working out the kinks, to “speed bowling.” (Speed bowling – going for the highest speed rather than knocking down the most pins. Yes, the lanes were so high tech that they told you the speed of the bowling ball in miles per hour!)
However, the best part of the night was the opportunity to finally meet and socialize with fellow gym members. As a reward for everyone’s hard work in the gym, there wasn’t a low-carb, calorie-free, protein-packed dish in sight! Rather – everyone dined on fine hors d’oeuvres, pizza, and fries! Yum!
Great company, great conversations, and great food made for a perfect evening.

Miss Lucky Strike Hopefully my bowling will
detract from these lovely shoes!

Such concentration... ...for a gutter ball! Ha! You owe me $10!

Precision Fitness (Anaheim) BBQ and Eat-a-thon
A member-sponsored weight loss contest was held at the Precision Fitness / Anaheim gym. The goal was to lose the most weight over the course of six months. The contestants trained hard - watching every calorie, lifting more weights and doing as much cardio as possible. They worked their butts off - literally! As the deadline approached, it was neck and neck. But in the end, Tim emerged as the grand prize winner with a total weight loss of 56 lbs. Rather than accept the prize monies, everyone decided to pool their winnings and share the wealth by hosting a BBQ and Eat-a-thon.
Don volunteered to have the event at his beautiful home in Anaheim Hills. Kari, Ann Marie, Andy, Tim, Don and Mike provided the steaks, salads, and drinks. Members brought some of their favorite side dishes and desserts to share. The food spread was to die for! Don and Mike even held a contest to determine the best BBQ flank steak recipe. (Better luck next time, Mike!)
Afterwards, there was more fun to be had... volleyball, ping pong, tennis, and if you so desired, a dip in the pool or jacuzzi. And for those who wanted to really take it easy, they plopped themselves down in front of the widescreen TV to watch the UFC fights.
It was definitely a fun reward for all the hard work and sacrifices by the contestants and for the others who cheered them on.
Congratulations to ALL! Whether you came in first or last - you're all winners! Job well done!
